Embracing Imperfection. Growing in Faith

October 30, 2012

Cinderella, Cinderella

You may have noticed that there wasn’t a Monday Runday.  I kinda sorta skipped my long run this past weekend.  The entire weekend was crazy busy and it was rather difficult to find 2 hours (plus the pre and post workout time) to run 10 miles.  On a happy note though, last week I ran my fastest 3 miler yet! 3 miles in 29:44!   My pace was 9:55, which has been my fastest pace for a 5k to date.  I was pretty excited about that!

In other news, I am happy to announce that I will officially be running my first 1/2 marathon, the Disney Wine and Dine, as Cinderella!!  I have already purchased my sparkly skirt and sparkly arm sleeves from the awesome Team Sparkle.  Next on the list: accessories.  I’m pretty sure all my future running outfits will come from their store.  Super cute stuff!   Although Ariel is my favorite Disney character, I didn’t think it would be a pretty sight if I ran in a purple shell bra nor do I want to melt to death in a red wig 😉  So I had to decide between the 2 blonde Princesses: Sleeping Beauty or Cinderella.  My shoes are blue…so Cinderella won 😉

I cannot believe my first 1/2 marathon is less than 2 weeks away.  I still cannot believe that I am actually going to run a 1/2 marathon.  I never ever ever imagined I would be doing something like this.  It’s amazing what the body can do when pushed!

Have you ever ran a 1/2 or full marathon?  Tell us about it!

Hi! Visiting from SITs! Congrats on your marathon!! So you’re a survivor of negative body image? Would love to hear more about that 🙂 I’m guessing the running helped? I’m trying to get there … have fun at the marathon!

I think I will put together a series of what exactly happen. Now that I have had time to reflect. Running did help, but it was my faith that really helped me. 🙂
