{Exploring Identity} Mankind makes a mess

Day 6 : Mankind makes a mess

Adam and Eve sure did make a mess when they ate the forbidden fruit.

The serpent took the truth and twisted it just a little and just enough to make Eve doubt her creator.

Isn’t that exactly what the serpent does to us when he fills our minds with negative thoughts about our bodies and our identity?  God longs for us to believe that we were created in His image and that we are fearfully and wonderfully made.  But yet our lives echo the standards of this world.  And as a result, we begin to doubt our Creator and the truths that He speaks.

Do you think you would have been so easily deceived just as Eve was?

Hey, we would have done the same.  How do I know?  Because daily, constantly, we imitate Eve.  Listening to lies about who we are, believing them and doubting God’s truth.

If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you.

-Psalm 139 v 11-12
