It’s been nearly 2 weeks since I have blogged. Yikes! Sorry about that! But it was for good reason! I spent most of the last 2 weeks of my stay in St Louis with my sweet Grandma after the loss of my dear Grandpa, or as we like to call him: G-pa. It was a wonderful blessing to be able to be there with her and my family.
After getting back to dry, hot West Texas, I spent all last week unpacking, cleaning and trying to get everything ready for the fall semester. And I am still not done! This is my list as of right now, but I keep adding to it, so I think I am gonna have to start a new list 😉
Don’t you love that it has the date 2007 on it? This was the original notepad I jotted wedding ideas down on ! |
This week I will get my blog to do list created and get a schedule for the fall. I have quite a few posts in the making as well. One of them is about my sweet grandfather and is a rather emotional post, so it is a work in progress.
I am also ready to take this blog to the next level. I just have to learn how! I’m currently reading Mom blogging for Dummies, but I am only on chapter 3 so I have alot yet to learn.
Anywaaaaaaay, on to MONDAY RUNDAY!
Now that I am back at home and getting back into routine, I have set a workout schedule. Each Wednesday and Friday, I am cross training with Chalean Extreme, and each Tuesday and Thursday, I am running a 5k at a faster pace than my long runs. When I do a long run, I try to run at a 12 minute mile. At that pace, I feel like I have built up alot of endurance and can run rather, but with the shorter runs, I want to work on my speed, then I will start incorporating interval training.

Last Saturday, I did a 6 mile run. Miles 3 and 4 are always so hard for me for some reason, which is reflected in my pace. What the heck is up with that? I’m good for the first two miles, although I have to force myself to stay at a 12 minute pace. If I don’t pay attention to my pace, I just take off all speedy style and then feel uber tired to fast. If I slow it down for miles 3 and 4, then I can get back on track at mile 5. Not sure what that’s all about. Any runners out there that can shed some light onto why this is happening would be much appreciated!
September 1 long run |
We only have one trail in my small town and its only a 3 miler. So instead, I hit the dirt roads and the farmer market roads for my long run. |
In other news, the hubs has decided to take up street cycling. He started last week and he logged 60 miles total. He goes out Monday, Wednesday and Friday to bike and plays racquetball on Tuesdays and Thursdays. After 1 week, he is down 4 lbs! Way to go hubby! I will be tracking his progress on Mondays along with Monday Runday 🙂
Happy Monday, yall!
