Embracing Imperfection. Growing in Faith

{Made to Crave} Finding Absolute Victory

To him who overcomes, I will give the right to eat from the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God.

 -Revelation 2:7

In other words, it [this verse] confirms that we can find absolute victory in an area where we once knew nothing but defeat.  There’s a reward awaiting those of us who press through our struggles all the way to absolute victory.

-Lysa T

We’ve reached the final chapter in {Made to Crave.}  This has been a very eye opening and speak-to-my-heart book, and I am so thankful that someone I follow on pinterest pinned it.  Whoever you are, thank you!  This book has helped my heart in so many ways.  I never thought I would be a victim of negative body image.  I never thought I would struggle so deeply with something so vain.  I never thought I would forgive myself for the awful things that I said to myself.

I never knew God would place in my heart a desire to write about my struggles and use those struggles to help others.  Isn’t He amazing?!?!  And I can proudly say I have overcome!!!!

As Lysa says “anyone who overcomes a difficult challenge will tell you that their victory was the sum total of daily sacrificial decisions to reach a goal and the reward.”  And it truly is a daily decision, a battle that must be fought every single day. I only felt defeat in the cruel world of negative body image.  But God has seen me through to victory!  Yes, there are days that I struggle, or that stinkin’ thinkin’ tries to creep its way back into my head.   Everyday, I have to look in the mirror and remind myself that those stretch marks are worth it because I have a beautiful 2 year old that completes me.  Everyday, I view my body as a gift that God has given me.  Everyday, I remind myself that the standards of the world are perfectionism, and there is only One who is perfect.

I want to end this series with one of my FAVORITE bible verses that truly helped me get through my struggles, and continues to reassure me on a daily basis.

Feel free to copy and save that image. I’d love for you to have it!
